Habitat
Most hippos are found in small to large bodies of water along the rich grass plains bordering the banks of their habitat. Hippos need water to survive so no matter if they are in a stream or swamp; they need to be in some type of water. Hippopotamuses live in groups called pods. These groups range up to 40 hippos. They sleep and rest throughout the day by, or in water. The night is their most active state, even if it including merely looking for food. They range from below the Sahara to the southernmost section of Africa.
